BARGAINING UPDATE:
Union bargaining with the EWU Administration is currently at a pause.
The University is being inflexible on the matter of salary increases while the UFE is seeking a reasonable increase as a move toward the University’s stated goal of the median of faculty at peer institutions.
We currently stand at a UFE proposal for 6.5% increase per year
for the next two years (total of 13%). The Administration proposal is currently
a 3.5% increase for ‘07 and 3.75% for ’08 (total of 7.25%).
[PLEASE NOTE: The Union proposal for TWO years is below the raise given this
summer to the president after only ONE year in office]
The UFE is planning informational meetings for all faculty to explain our position and to seek your support. Meetings will be held in both Cheney and Spokane.
Please watch for the meeting notice and help the UFE get better
salaries and working conditions for EWU faculty.
